Loved this. As a neurodivergent person prone to infodumping and with a lifetime of feeling misunderstood, I'm slowly starting to learn that less is more, and to hold back. Recently, I had a pivotal conversation with my 17-year-old son and it took every ounce of self-control to not over explain important news to him, to let it sink in, allow him to have his (strong) reaction, and come back to it when he was ready to talk more.
“It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect to Be Heard” I love this line.
Good points! I feel like school encourages this to some extent -- credit for "participation" in discussion, not for making good points.
During one of my college classes, people literally just talked to hear themselves so that the TA would mark down that they participated.
But this is NOT a good strategy if you're actually trying to get things done.

This is great. I relate to quite a bit in this article, especially the walking away, thinking I talked too much.
Great. Just great. 🙏🏻
TO long ; didn’t read
I talk too much because you shouldn’t be listening.
Just turn off their microphone. I believe the perfectionist refuses to let free styled thought be purposely flushed with the waste.
